A new microscope for otorhinolaryngologists
15 December 2025
The ENT clinic of the SSMU University Clinical Hospital No. 1 has received the latest Carl Zeiss Sensera operating microscope as part of the national project "Long and Active Life".
This innovative equipment opens up new horizons for doctors in performing complex microsurgical interventions on the organs of hearing. Thanks to the built-in video transmission system, experienced specialists will be able to quickly transfer knowledge to young colleagues, improving the quality of training new personnel.
Surgeons will have a unique opportunity to perform operations with maximum accuracy due to the clear image of anatomical structures in natural colors provided by a powerful Superlux180 xenon light source and a wide range of focusing (200-415 mm). This is especially important for delicate manipulations inside the ear that require precise movements.
In addition, the flexible design and comfortable ergonomic elements of the microscope allow doctors to freely move the device in any direction and fix the optimal position for comfortable work of the surgeon, assistants and staff. Integration with video surveillance systems makes it possible to document the course of operations in detail and demonstrate best practices to students and specialists.
The device can also be easily and quickly adapted to the needs of the operating room. In addition, you can save personal settings for up to 9 users.
The acquisition of modern equipment by SSMU contributes to improving the quality of medical care for patients of the ENT department of the clinic, expanding the range of services provided and increasing the effectiveness of surgical procedures.
